Last night we broke in our new tour boots at The Nick in Birmingham, AL.  It was a fun, silly time (especially the heckling woman who literally screamed in between every song that we play some Skynyrd. She eventually got too angry that we wouldn’t oblige and stormed out.  They love their Skynyrd.)

Moreover, we had the great fortune of spending quality time with Hackberry Records founders and flagship band Sparrow & The Ghost (imagineDrugs Without Prescription target=”_blank”> Superchunk‘s early days with Merge).  Truly quality people with a strong ethos and even stronger heart for this volatile age in the music business.

We are spending some repose in beautiful, scenic Moody, AL (home of Jack and my Aunt Susan– bring on the Capri Sun).  We then spend just a few blissful hours heading due east to Athens, GA for our show tonight at Flicker.  We have near-family in Bulldog town, so this will no doubt be an absolute hoot.
